About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and like to describe myself as a generalist.  That is - I use a variety of strategies from a variety of different approaches to therapy.  I like to focus on relationships and how we connect with others that surround us, how we positively influence ourselves within relationships with ourselves and with others as well as identify the challenges that relationships can bring. My hope is that you experience the therapy setting with kindness and understanding. I love to laugh, expect to laugh together amidst those heavy feelings. When I am not at work, I continue to laugh, enjoy and re-energize in nature and by eating Thai food!

About Me

I have had the privilege of working with families, individuals, and couples for the past 10 years and clarifying the pronunciation of my name for well beyond that!

Descriptions for me as a therapist, per feedback from those I work with include, teacher, humorous, understanding, patient, and at times, candid or blunt. I tend to agree with these as I value the growth process that occurs through therapy. I aim to support you with increased knowledge that promotes understanding that promotes awareness that promotes peace or an increased sense of calm amidst the chaos, fear, or whatever emotion you are experiencing when you first come to therapy.

My educational foundation is as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I value relationships and am passionate about supporting others to navigate relationships in their own lives. This starts with the most important of all relationships, the relationship with yourself. Whether you come individually, as a couple, or as a family, I look forward to creating goals together that help you to get where you are wanting to go.

About Me

Deep connections are built on vulnerability, and it takes incredible courage to engage in
a therapeutic journey. I recognize that it is often very difficult to do this work; to heal
from the pain of our childhoods, past traumas, or difficult life circumstances. I want to
partner with you, to create a space that allows you to heal and grow.

It was in my role as a first responder that I first noticed the need for mental health care
in our communities and sought to pursue a career in the field. Since this time, I have
completed an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology (Metropolitan
State University 2006), a master’s degree in clinical social work (St. Catherine
University/University of St. Thomas 2013) and have worked in some of the most
complex social service systems (child welfare, corrections/probation, and emergency
crisis services).

In a non-judgmental space, I use humor and reflection to help clients discover more
about themselves and how to life more fulfilling lives. I use a variety of evidence-based
practices, including Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-
focused interventions, with an emphasis on the individual needs of the person.

My passions include working with first responders and healthcare professionals, those
impacted by substance use, and individuals who have struggled to see results in other
therapeutic settings. I see adolescents and adult clients, couples, and families. I
currently offer consultations and in-service educational opportunities for businesses,
clinical supervision for all counseling disciplines, and Critical Incident Stress
